One client messages on Instagram, another calls, and a third books her next visit just before leaving the salon. The receptionist opens the notebook, checks the stylist's schedule and tries to find a free slot.
Everything works — until a client changes her time, a stylist calls in sick and the room needed for another visit turns out to be taken.
Beauty salon software should help you see all of this in one place: who is coming, for which service, with whom, for how long and for how much.
TM Hub's “Beauty salon” app brings together bookings, staff work schedules, client visits and payments to organise the salon's day-to-day work.
When does a salon need booking software?
In a small team, information often lives in people's heads. But as you add staff, services and clients, every change creates new questions.
A single management system helps if:
- Bookings are recorded in different places.
- Finding a free slot means asking each stylist in turn.
- Two clients sometimes end up booked for the same time.
- It's hard to tell who has paid a deposit and what balance is left.
- You have to ask clients again about the details of their last visit.
- The manager has to request a separate report every time to understand how the salon is doing.
These problems share one cause: the information isn't connected. The calendar is in one place, the client's history in another and payments somewhere else.
A booking calendar for the whole salon
A salon calendar should show more than a client's name and a time.
In TM Hub, a visit is linked to the client, the services, the staff and the resources needed. The schedule can be viewed by day, week, month or as a list. The receptionist can focus on a specific stylist or branch and see the matching bookings.
If a client moves her visit, the change is saved in the same record. The team keeps working from one shared schedule, and finding a free slot becomes a visible step in the workflow.

Several services in one visit
A client may want a blow-dry and make-up on the same day, or a manicure followed by another service with a different specialist.
In TM Hub you can add several services to one visit and set a specialist for each. The services are scheduled one after another, and the end of the visit is calculated from their durations.
For example, in a sample visit the hair styling may be planned for 12:00–13:00 and the make-up for 13:00–13:45. The receptionist sees the whole visit, and each specialist sees their own part.
The service price and duration are fixed at the time of booking. Later changes to the price list don't change the terms of a visit already booked.
Staff schedules and real free time
An empty space in the calendar doesn't mean a specialist can take a client. You need to account for start and finish times, breaks, holidays, a changed schedule on a particular day and visits already booked.
In the app, a specialist's working time is linked to the services they provide and the branches they work at. Absences and schedule exceptions are recorded separately. This is especially useful when staff work different hours on different days or serve several branches.

A chair, room or piece of equipment can be busy too
For some services, a free specialist isn't enough. You also need the right workstation, a separate room or equipment.
Salon resources are tracked as separate bookable units, and their availability is taken into account when choosing a free slot. That way the schedule reflects what the salon can really do.
Client history for organising the next visit
Good service continues between visits. In the client card it's important to see when she last visited, what service she had, who she booked with and what her preferences are.
TM Hub links client data to past and upcoming visits. You can store a preferred specialist, service preferences and internal notes, with access you control.
From a completed visit you can open the next visit form with the same client and services. The receptionist just confirms the new date, time and any changes.
Payments, deposits and balances
“The service is done” and “the client has paid” are two different facts.
A salon needs to see the visit value, the deposit received, later payments and the remaining balance separately.
In the app, payments and refunds are linked to the existing finance system. You can track partial payments and tell the service value apart from payments actually recorded. A cancelled visit doesn't automatically mean a refund: refunds are a separate action.

What the salon manager sees
Connected data answers everyday management questions: how many visits were completed, how many cancellations and no-shows there were, which services are chosen and how busy each specialist is.
Reports show the value of completed services and the payments actually recorded separately. A high value of bookings is not the same as money actually received.
How to choose a CRM for a beauty salon
When evaluating software, ask to see your salon's real working scenario. For example: a client wants two services in one visit, the first specialist has a break, the second service needs a separate resource, and part of the payment has already been made as a deposit.
Check whether the system can handle that visit from start to finish without entering the same data in different places. Pay attention to:
- How easily the receptionist can create a booking.
- What data specialists can see.
- How convenient it is to work from a phone.
- Access restrictions for client data and finances.
- Whether you can set up your own services and working rules.
How to get started with TM Hub
To start, describe the salon's services, specialists, schedules and the resources you use. Then run one complete trial scenario — from booking a client and choosing a free slot to the service itself, payment and the next visit.
That trial will show how well the app fits your team. It is worth considering for hair salons, nail and make-up studios and beauty salons that combine several services.
